I am a National Certified Counselor & have a Masters of Science in Counseling from Oregon State University. I belong to the American Counseling Association, the Oregon Counseling Association & the American Association of Christian Counselors. My approach to therapy follows Adlerian Individual Psychology, which begins with building a therapeutic alliance that is strong, mutual & maintained throughout therapy. I believe, that the purpose of therapy is to help people feel empowered, self- actualized & to build rewarding relationships & social involvement. Individual psychology takes into consideration the mind, body & spirit, which I believe is very important when working with the client. Techniques that are most likely to be used are: journaling, dialogue, reading books, "acting as if," gratitude lists, reframing & tactile imagery.

I belong to the American Counseling Association, Oregon Counseling Association & the American Association of Christian Counselors. My approach to therapy is Constructivist Psychotherapy. This is a philosophy of counseling which encompasses both emotions & thoughts that a client has & how they can lead to either mental well being or mental distress. The techniques used to counsel are likely to include: dialogue, interpretation, cognitive reframing, awareness exercises, self-monitoring experiments, visualization, journal keeping & Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).
