Online Counseling
Hope Rising Counseling offers email counseling sessions. This type of counseling provides convenient, fast, and helpful therapy, with the added advantage of having a record of each session to review again in the future. There are benefits derived from writing the email itself. Therapists often encourage clients to keep journals or write to help clarify and express their thoughts. There is a helpful awareness piece that often comes from just formulating your question or concern. You may have a simple one-time question, or you may choose to use this as a way to establish a longer-term relationship with a therapist. While there are many benefits to online counseling, it is not considered appropriate under the following circumstances:
  • If this is an emergency, if you feel suicidal or want to hurt yourself or someone else.
  • If you have any psychotic symptoms such as, hallucinations, delusions or severe confusion.
  • If you need intense support, phone contact or hospitalization.
  • If you are addicted to drugs or alcohol, or if you have a psychiatric illness.
  • If you need a medical diagnosis or a prescription.
If you are experiencing serious suicidal thoughts, please stop now and phone your local suicide hotline or phone 911 or call 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

This service is also not intended for use by minors [under 18 years old].
